Please DO NOT trade jewellery at this shop especially if something is of sentimental value. My Grandad left my Dad a diamond signet ring and I picked it up in Durham today after it had been sent away and valued for insurance purposes at another jewellers. The ring was valued and insured for £6000.

I was curious to see what Ramsdens would value the ring at. The woman I dealt with at Ramsden’s looked at the ring, measured it and used her “machine” she told me it was a cubic zirconia not a diamond and after weighing it she would give me £265 for it.

I understand businesses need to make a profit but this is scamming. I dread to think how many vulnerable people have entered that store and been taken advantage of.

Great cash in and buy jewellers based near the market place, if you need to swap in your gold then they this of Facebook marketplace. Staff are friendly, remember to take ID easy to access from market place in Durham

The staff are very helpful and friendly, very knowledgeable. I went in with a problem of my own and one lady in particular went out of her way to help me and she really didn’t need to . I can’t rate them high enough. I will definitely be going there again
