We have used hays for years, even paying more for some holidays because we tried to help keep another shop on the high street. Recently my wife and I had some devastating news after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, as anyone can imagine this was a terrible time but things still have to be sorted, at the time we had two holidays booked and paid for with hays/jet 2, we hadn't yet sorted our insurance wich we always have, when the diagnosis was made only because our insurance was going to cover both holidays, but we had to wait for a certain date for it to start. On speaking to the staff at hays I found them to be very uncompassionate towards us. We spoke directly to jet 2 staff and were told that ulthough they would love to help because we had booked through a broker we had no choice but to deal with them. I had to make several trips to hays shop only to be informed that there was nothing they would do other than cancel both holidays or charge to change names wich is what we ultimately did with one holiday, there price for the name change was more than if we had booked direct through jet 2 and again no compassion was shown charging the full amount.
The second holiday, we cancelled and managed to recoup some of our money but again lost around 70%. Even then, I was made to feel like I was doing something wrong by the staff who promised me a call back to sort out a repayment but never did.
Overall, we feel very disappointed that our loyalty to a local travel agent wast reciprocated and can only hope that anyone having such an awful time in there lives has a much better experience.

Kerry made our holiday booking so easy she want above and beyond to help and will definitely be using hays travel for every trip. And a massive thanks to Kerry lovely lady.Fully recommend. Holidays for everyone pocket as well as mothly direct debit repayment plan.
