What an absolutely awful way to run a business
I’ve just queued up to paying money over the counter to be told that they can only take a maximum of £1000 and that I would had to come back in 20 minutes to pay into the bureau de change.

It’s strange how only last week I was able to pay in a larger amount

As if the staff’s sole purpose is to make everyone suffer and miserable. Even if you don’t like your job, you are still being paid to do it. Basic customer service is absent here.

Workers are sleeping on the job, they are so slow! Usually one customer window out of 4 is open! People are standing in line but no new worker comes to open a new window.

Unfortunately, 1 or 2 of the counters are usually closed resulting in long, long queues and the two members of staff who were working when I went in didn’t have the correct knowledge regarding passport renewal applications. Thank goodness the process is now online.

One star is quite generous considering the experiences I have had. I was there about 3 weeks ago! This is my last time and I’d never want to waste my time queuing up for an hour and 15mins just to send a recorded post! I went there during my lunch hour, what a big mistake, I had about 11 people in front of me and only one person serving! I think her name was Wanda! Great lady trying to do passport applications, postal orders, driving license application, regular parcels and then keep running around to help the guy who came to collect the parcels. She had to go and help this customer who was at the front of the queue for preordered travel money, he got sent back by the person at the travel money desk to say he had to join the queue as Wanda will help, then the lady at the travel desk closed the counter and went for her lunch! Wanda was unable to help the customer (after he queued up for 40mins or so!) as she needed to have access to the safe, the travel desk lady eventually returned but they couldn’t open the safe! All this time whilst Wanda was running around trying to do 150 other things, all the customers ( including some elderly who couldn’t stand in the queue) were patiently waiting in the queue! During this time there were people queued up for the travel desk - there was no communication to say that the desk were closed. I felt for this elderly couple who queued up for ages, I went up to them and told there’s no one serving and the lady was on lunch. Finally when I got to the desk, Wanda told me they got rid of all the staff, and she was on her own all day - most of the week! Then they have posters for “staff do not put up with abuse”, if people queue up for hours, by the time they get to the desk, they are going to be tired and frustrated! No consideration for their customers! Do not go to this place if you have mobility issues or not able to stand for a long time!

A few months back I had to send something and I rushed to this post office at 5:10pm, i had about 6 people in front of me, two cashiers but only one serving, so took ages and then it was 5:30pm, there were only four people left (including me), they refused to serve! This lady (blonde) was extremely rude and she said she had a long day and she wanted to go home! Shambolic! Disgusted the way they treat their customers! They need more staff and customer service training! Avoid at all cost.

Even though the queue often stretches towards the main door, the staff seem little bothered to serve customers with speed - Too many times staff operate with one position open, while colleagues ‘work’ behind a sign saying ‘position closed’.

Horrible experience every time.

Disappointing Service at Wallington Post Office

I visited the Wallington Post Office this morning around 11 am to post some documents, and I was the only customer there at the time. Unfortunately, the service I received was far from satisfactory.

The lady behind the counter, an Indian woman in her 30s or 40s, was incredibly dismissive. Despite my polite greeting and request for next-day delivery, her only response was a curt “On the scale,” without even bothering to look at me. She had a completely unapproachable and unfriendly demeanour.

The only time she engaged was when I had to pay. Afterward, I thanked her for her service, but she ignored me entirely. It wasn’t busy, so there was no reason for her lack of basic courtesy.

I understand that not everyone enjoys working with people, and that’s fine. But if someone dislikes interacting with customers to the point of being rude, perhaps they shouldn’t be in a customer service role. It was an unpleasant experience, and I hope improvements are made to how customers are treated at this location.

I attended to get a renewal of a driving licence, as I could not do it online. Attended at 16:40 to be told, you need to come back before 2pm. So although closing time is 17:30, it seems they arbitrarily close certain services depending on a whim. Not sure how anyone is supposed to know this as its not stated anywhere at all. I asked to complain to the manager - who is there from 9-2 - so no joy there. Very poor service.
