Absolutely gutted. The food was nice, though expensive, until I paid £8.30 for what tasted like a shop bought sticky toffee pudding with NO toffee sauce and a pretty pathetic drizzle of custard unceremoniously poured on the top. Absolutely raging, especially when the photo the venue has uploaded themselves looks delicious, WITH toffee sauce.
Then when I turned the bowl around to see if this was really the case (which it was) I felt a lump underneath the rim and noticed a large glob of (what I hope was) hardened potato and leak soup. Disgusting.

My friends burger was £16 and was about the same size as a McDonald's cheeseburger, which I suppose wouldn't matter but apparently didn't taste 16x better, so we all left here feeling a bit hard done by. A bitter taste in my mouth from a pub with a good reputation, in a superb area.

The staff were hardworking and friendly, and it's a shame their efforts were sabotaged by prices that did not reflect the quality of the food we were given.

Can't say that I'll be back for food anytime soon, but I will admit it's a lovely building with a good atmosphere, might be worth a stop for drinks.
I try not to make a habit out of leaving poorer reviews for more locally owned restaurants, but I couldn't let this go amiss.

Never thought of popping here before but well worth the visit. First of all I would like to give credit all the members of staff, really friendly happy. Nice to see truly a credit to the business. The food we had was all nice and all very well presented. I will definitely be forwarding people your way and will be back with family. All the best.

First time going here following a online search. Lovely and friendly staff so welcoming. Drinks were lovely and fresh and the food was amazing. Family friendly with baby seats and big outside area which would be lovely on a summers day. Can only give it 4 stars as I was so full I couldn't stomach the deserts. But I will be back and will get one! Keep it up!

Amazing food and service from the Royal Exchange. Visited here with my brother's family and we received very attentive service. Portion size is very generous and even the children's meals are almost adult sized. Would definitely recommend if you are visiting this area.

We come to Tirley every year in winter from Devon and always visit the Royal Exchange to either have a few pints and watch the rugby, have a lovely meal and we even stopped over for the day and evening on our honeymoon. The staff are wonderfully friendly - Leanna is such an excellent and attentive manager and really cares about her customers. We had the most amazing meal last night - the lamb with potato gratin & roasted pepper sauce was delicious and our server Kayla was so lovely and helpful, recommending the most decadent ice cream (Bourbon vanilla with clotted cream!). Thank you Kayla, chef David and Leanna and we will see you again next year for our 5th visit! XX

Depsite me messing up the booking, the team squeezed us in anyway and we had a wonderful meal at the Royal Exchange last night. The Valentines day tapas dishes, duck and seabass were all delicious and the evening was made even better by the exceptional service from our waitress Poppin - attentive, warm and with a great sense of humour.
