I visited the retreat this week for the morning and can honestly say that this package was truly amazing. The facilities are lovely and clean, there is plenty of free parking available. The treatment I had, ‘Changing Tides’ was absolutely incredible. It was the best treatment I’ve ever had….I’m 53, so I’ve had a fair few 🤣
The therapist Amy was extremely professional, friendly and the pressure was spot on for me. Lastly, the light lunch blew us away. The choice was incredible, and the food itself was excellent. This place certainly exceeded my expectations, which is pretty hard to do as I can set the bar quite high! I will definitely be returning to try out different treatments and taste some of the other delicious dishes on the menu. The only slight negative was the smell in the hotel/ restaurant area. Couldn’t quite put my finger on it but it resembled nursing home whiff tome 🥴

We just enjoyed a very nice 1 night stay here for my birthday!

We had a great evening meal at the restaurant with attentive servers, and delectable pork belly. The starters and puds were tasty too. I was really pleasantly surprised having read a lot of other reviews- some of which weren't so positive. But I have to say our overall experience was very nice.

We had the cooked breakfast too- which was a bit medicore in comparison to our great dinner. The poached eggs were rather vinegary and overdone but the sausage and hash brown were very tasty.

Our room was nice- comfy bed and pleasantly decorated. The staff we met were all friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the old pipes meant there was an unpleasant drain smell after using the shower but otherwise we had no complaints about the room.

A generally pleasant stay with a few hiccups

We recently stayed at the Relais Cooden Beach Hotel and overall had a lovely time, though there were a few things that could be improved.

The rooms were light, airy, clean, and very comfortable — a great space to relax. However, it's worth noting there was no air conditioning, which might be a concern in warmer months.

The hotel’s restaurant is large and pleasant, offering picturesque sea views. It’s open to the public, so booking is essential. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to secure a table for Sunday lunch on the day we arrived, which was disappointing, but we have to say that when ordering our meals later that day, they were beautifully presented and cooked to perfection.

Service from staff was a bit hit and miss. While some team members were very helpful and welcoming, others weren’t quite as attentive, leading to a few errors with our food and drink orders.

We appreciated the free parking and were pleasantly surprised to find 24-hour room service available. That said, there was no menu provided in the room, and the phone to reception wasn’t working, which made ordering difficult.

A nice touch was the complimentary water in the room, though the bottle wasn’t sealed, which raised some hygiene concerns.

Despite these small issues, we would return. The location, atmosphere, and some truly kind staff members made our stay generally enjoyable.

For guests wishing for relaxation and pampering, there is a beautiful spa on hand with a wonderful array of products to complement your treatments, which smelled amazing when checking in!

I’ve read the reviews about poor service and I have experienced nothing but the best service. Staff are friendly and thoughtful and hard working. Good is excellent. Prices good. Location amazing. Terrace is lovely. There are a few rules that don’t make any sense like not opening the doors to the terrace at breakfast even though you are allowed to sit out there which is just silly but other than that this hotel is superb. A real gem. And very strongly recommend to all.

Had the most delightful lunch at the The Relais Cooden Beach today with my Sister and Niece. Great setting with wonderful views.||Thanks to the brilliant staff here especially the F&B Mananger James Cornford who honoured an old promise from a former manager and made our visit so special.||We are happy to say that the hotel is better than it was before and the food is amazing. Our last visit was in 2022.||The wonderful Liz looked after us and we had the added joy of being entertained by the fabulous Splash Point Jazz. Neal Richardson is brilliant.||We would highly recommend you visit this wonderful hotel.

We stayed at the Relais Cooden Beach for the night of the 30th July to celebrate my birthday.|We were so impressed with the hotel in every way.|We had sandwiches on the terrace when we arrived and the staff couldn't have been nicer, friendlier and more welcoming - superb service in a lovely setting overlooking the beach.|I had a Lava Stone massage by Laura, a real treat. She was superb, I also got the full hour. Previously I have found this wasn't the case in different establishments as some of your hour is taken up by questionaires etc.|Dinner and breakfast was excellent. A real treat to have a freshly cooked breakfast included in the price.|Our room was lovely, clean and face cloths too, which I really like. There was air conditioning so I don't understand a previous review.|We met the hotel manager David Croucher, who was also charming and welcomed our positive reviews about his staff and the hotel.|The views of the sea are lovely and a welcome change not to see tourist "tat"|We will definitely be returning.

Nice decor, plenty of parking, had a meal - a main and a dessert. The main course was fantastic, we all had fish and chips, plenty of it. However, disappointed with 2 of the 3 desserts that weren't very nice, the Eaton mess was slop consisting of mushed up strawberries and meringue with a blob of cream on the top. My husband had the mango cheesecake which looked colourful but was dry and tasteless. Couldn't fault the service or view of the sea. Staff very friendly.

My sister and I booked a spa day with 2 course lunch and we really enjoyed it. The spa staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere relaxing. Jacuzzi, sauna and spa with heated beds. Also a quiet lounge area that was a bit cooler. Excellent massages, one of the best I've had. Lovely service in the restaurant, and delicious prawn sandwich and lemon posset. Would suggest a sign on the doors to the changing rooms, and a menu forn non-alcoholic drinks. Only negative was the floor in the spa area was quite dusty. Overall very enjoyable and we will be going back.
