We stopped at the Oystercatcher today for Sunday lunch. What an absolutely stunning location. We sat looking out at sea having drinks before eating as it was a beautiful sunny day. The decor of the restaurant and bar was lovely and the menu looked varied. We opted for the traditional roast and it was really good. Very large potions with a nice selection of vegetables. We want to give a special shoutout to the wonderful staff, who were very friendly and efficient and an especially Mike who was very friendly and informative. We will definitely be back next time we are in Cornwall.

This is a wonderful restaurant in a wonderful village. We came here for late lunch after a walk along the coastal path from Rock (highly recommend parking in rock and following the path to Polzeath). We came here two years prior and enjoyed the food so we decided to come back again. It did not disappoint. Amazing view. Amazing food. The burger was very nice but the star was the sticky toffee pudding. It was the best I’ve had for a long time. Sticky and delicious. Although it wasn’t very busy I think it’s popular in the evenings so if you want to come here for your evening meal make sure to book a table. You can also come here for a quick drink as there’s a bar area and if it’s warm there’s an outdoor area with lots of seating. It’s dog friendly too which is great. Allergy foods also come out separately with a sticker giving you peace of mind they haven’t forgotten about it. This pub is part of the St Austell brewing company.

Would definitely recommend!

Edit: I’ve now been here for an evening meal too. The salmon was lovely. It was a nice break from the heavy meals I’d had all holiday. Lovely view as the day turned to night. Again, STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING! The place did feel slightly understaffed, but the few members of staff who served the whole restaurant did a good job running about trying to serve as many people as possible. Make sure to book as it’s busy at peak times.

We popped in for a midweek late lunch at 3.30 in the afternoon, the place was very quiet with only one other table occupied in the large dining room and a few people in the bar, the waitress was pleasant enough although we were asked whether we would be having wine before we'd sat down let alone looked at the menu.
The food was very disappointing, we had a sharing platter of crab fondue which was ice cold and served with 4 small bits of bread, nowhere near enough to share.
The most disappointing were the mains which were all cold with the exception of the fish on the order of fish and chips, quite how they managed that in practically empty restaurant is baffling.
With a bit more care this place could be excellent but I get the feeling it lives off it's lovely sea views, not it's food.

Booking a table was recommended and I was so glad that I did as it was a very busy Saturday evening. The service was exceptional and friendly, looked out for us regarding allergies and diet preference. The food was good, the Belgian waffle was delicious. Liked the games table and the view of the sea. Would visit again.

Had a fantastic meal here tonight with my wife. The restaurant supervisor Mike was absolutely brilliant, his attention to detail was phenomenal and his cocktail making skills are top drawer! He made us feel very welcome, as did every staff member but Mike was exceptional. Excellent food, great atmosphere. Highly recommend this place

We had a fantastic evening at The Oystercatcher in Polzeath! We were a party of 12, and although our table wasn’t quite ready when we arrived, Mike — our waiter — kept us well informed and looked after us brilliantly throughout.

The service was warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Mike handled our large group with ease, making sure everyone was happy and had everything they needed.

The food was absolutely lovely — something for everyone, including the kids, and all beautifully cooked and presented. The atmosphere was relaxed and perfect for a family gathering.

We’ll definitely be coming back again. Thanks to Mike and the team for a great evening!
