We stopped in Warwick just for an afternoon and evening before a wedding further south with the intention of going for a walk around Warwick Castle however at £78 for a couple we decided kn something more reasonable and stumbled upon the Lord Leycester which was perfect for a spot of history.
Ideal for a family with young kids as it's not that big, but great for a history lesson. Buildings are stunning and the tour has been very tastefully done

Fantastic place to visit with historic significance. Well preserved old building with at least seven centuries of history. Also the cafe inside is wonderful with some very good food. Highly recommend eating there when visiting this establishment, well worth it and the staff of both the house and the cafe are wonderful and very friendly. Very nice church and gardens within the grounds of The Lord Leycester facility. Be sure to visit when in Warwick.

Amazing that it's a living museum that's still carrying out the work it was founded for back in Elizabethan times. Well worth a visit.

What a beautiful historical building. We were met at the entrance by a very charming lady who gave us a brief history of the building. This encouraged us to buy entrance tickets and explore the place properly. It is a fascinating place with a fascinating history and definitely worth a visit. It is staffed by extremely knowledgeable and friendly volunteers. There is a lovely cafe on site and a very good gift shop with high end things to buy. Highly recommended !

I specifically visited Warwick to visit this place as I had seen it a few years ago but it was closed for renovation and I thought I need to go back at some point. I was so pleased I did! Turns out it was a kind of medieval Chelsea Pensioners' home, and people still live there to this day! I met one of them at the entrance and had a nice chat. The complex is a majestic, ancient medieval wonder with loads to explore and plenty of fascinating history to read about. All staff were great but I was particularly impressed by the history graduate dressed in medieval garb...I doubt there is a thing she doesn't know about the building and it's history and the enthusiasm with which she imparts her knowledge is a joy and great enhancement to the visitor experience. The chapel and gardens are beautiful and I love the fact that it's still a working building...it tells of it's history but it's still creating history now! First female master and fist female "brother" becoming notable parts of that recently. A truly wonderful place to visit!

Simply a great experience to see history so well preserved. The buildings show the age of the years yet they have been maintained to be functional. The various elements of daily life and the history are well illustrated. The garden is just the icing on the cake lush with a variety of plants and flowers in a peaceful setting.
