My wife & I both had the lobster and prawn roll - really disappointing 3-4 tiny pieces of lobster and some small prawns in a stale roll stuffed with cheap coleslaw. £28 for 2 rolls and 2 soft drinks. Could have had a bowl of delicious mussels at the Tollbooth for less. Unfortunately won’t be making a return visit.

The food at SeaFoodBothy was delicious, but unfortunately, the portions were quite small for the price. I ordered the crab and lobster crumpet for £6, but it only had crab—still £6. My wife had the crab and lobster quiche, which also lacked the lobster but was still priced at £6. The service was fine, but I do think the menu could be more affordable or versatile, especially when key ingredients are missing. If the restaurant focused less on being fancy and more on value, I believe it could be even more popular. A little adjustment in pricing and portions would make a big difference!

I’m not into seafood myself but my companion was keen to try some and the Stonehaven Seafood Bothy has a very good local reputation and only sources locally caught fresh fish. She enjoyed the lobster taco and salad and the staff were friendly and pleasant. The choices were limited as it was towards the end of the day so get there a bit earlier. Highly recommended.

Tasty seafood bothy on the harbour. Wonderful ladies serving and cooking, providing locally caught delights from the sea. A Stonehaven street food style delight, giving you waves of sea tasting delicacies rippling over your taste buds... With the lobster creels scattered around, the smell of the sea, the old harbour façade, if you squint your eyes, one can almost see the pirates of the Caribbean sailing in and dropping anchor for their lunch!!

Smell of the sea and scrumptious seafood, sets the homely atmosphere that brings you back to the time where fishing boats brings in the good catch in the wee hours.

Enjoy the scenary and the sound of the waves while sipping a good cup of tea.

Cute booth by the harbour with few seats just by the water. Lovely on a sunny day. Interesting menu but does give small servings of the seafoods. Tried the lobster quesadilla and crab claws. Overall good experience and nice ambiance other than the seagulls and bees coming for the food. Which is part of the experience!!

This place is getting it wrong. Why do fancy over engineered stuff like crab and coriander tacos when you can get back to basics and have seared scallops and prawns like the guys in oban and Ullapool do? Fresh, simple and back to basics. The smell would be poring over the bay and what better than eating some seared scallops with fresh lemon next to the bay or cracking open crab claws?

With a menu overhaul, this place could be a gem.
