In an age where shops and markets are in decline, it is so refreshing to witness what Scarborough is attempting to achieve to keep shops open whilst creating jobs, places and spaces where human interaction is still possible.
The main hall has fruits and veg, crafts, cafe, eatery and many more. On the first floor are further shops ranging from handmade crafts to confectionery.
The vault is amazing. Really cool space to visit. The shops in the vault tend to open after 10am.

The vegetable stalls seem smaller w less stores opening compared to last year when we were there.
The downstairs deli was as magical as we remembered.
That Yorkshire pudding with beef or chicken is the reason for us to go back. Their chicken nuggets was all good quality, my fussy eater daughter managed to eat them twice in two days.
The cream in the chocolate eclair is very generous. Still wanted to eat more of their lovely tarts but no more space in our stomachs.
Thank you for keeping up the great job!!! You are one of the main reasons we drove hrs to come back to Scarborough!!

Lovely market with some great produce on sale. Also the basement vaults with an array of shops/stalls selling everything from vintage toys, records to crafts. Highly recommend a visit

visiting the market hall is uplifting. Although some of Scarborough is forgettable, this public building is a wonderful find. Maybe not a typical tourist view, but I loved it. Totally authentic. Don't miss it!

I do love a good market, particularly an indoor one!
I often pop into Scarborough Market when I visit the town. It is a beautiful light and airy hall with the ground floor being the more traditional fruit, veg etc whilst the upper level has lots of lovely independent shops.
There’s also a lower level-The Vaults which is just an amazing space to explore.
I’ve only ever visited midweek when the market can be quiet but I’m sure that it will be very busy on a Saturday
Well worth a visit!
Edit: March 2025 popped in again today and had a good cup of tea from Deli Delicious. The cakes and pastries looked amazing!

There is something for everyone in the market hall. So glad is eventually found it. It also has a few cafes in there too so you can have some food and drink and they also have toilets and a lift.
