🌟 5-Star Review for Royden Marina Village 🌟

I can’t recommend Royden Marina Village highly enough — this place is a hidden gem that truly exceeded expectations!

I stupidly booked via "booking.CON"
Who said it was the last superior room, then when I got confirmation said it was standard!!

I rang them and they up graded to superior

From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. The marina itself is beautifully maintained, with tranquil surroundings and stunning views that create a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. Whether you're visiting by boat or just looking for a lovely spot to stay, it’s the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle.

The facilities are excellent: clean, modern showers and washrooms, well-kept pontoons, ample parking, and a fantastic café serving great coffee and homemade cakes — ideal for a leisurely afternoon. The entire site is immaculately presented and clearly cared for with pride.

The staff deserve a special mention: professional, helpful, and always ready with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble, and their attention to detail really made the whole experience stand out.

The village itself has a lovely, friendly feel with plenty of walks nearby for anyone who enjoys nature and the outdoors. It’s also a great spot to moor up and explore the surrounding area.

In short, Royden Marina Village is a perfect place for boaters, holidaymakers, and anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with top-class facilities and service. I’ll definitely be back — it’s a place you won’t want to leave!

Went here for a peaceful night away for our anniversary. We a lovely meal at the indian restaurant followed by a couple of drinks at the clubhouse bar. There was no Friday night entertainment as stated on the website, and the photo on the website is not up to date! It portrays quality comfy seating but there was only rustic furniture more suitable for outdoors. We had bacon rolls there for breakfast too which weren't great. Having said that, staff and ambience were very nice, with a great view of the marina.|The hotel room was lovely, and we had a very comfortable night's sleep.|We also went for a walk along the river, which was very relaxing.|Overall, a decent night away to switch off from the working week, and we will return.

Had a lovely time at Roydon marina village open day, great magician, good music and food. Weather was a let down but the large marquee was excellent. We stayed overnight in the hotel, nice room very comfortable and clean. All in all a good weekend

We stayed in lodge 2 and had a very pleasant stay for 2 nights. The place was nice and clean and was well equipped. The hot tub was a lovely constant warm temperature. Although the Wifi is very temperamental, we did manage to send Whatsapp messages, make video calls. Netflix was an issue and kept stopping half way during the movies as it lost internet connection. Apart from that we have a really lovely relaxing time.

This was our second stay in a lodge at the marina. Fabulous area to explore London by train so convenient. The site is very well kept and the staff are extremely helpful.|The lodge was well equipped but used little by us as we were out all day. Fabulous bed linen and towels. Pillows soft. Feels home from home. We have booked again onsite for next year

Roydon Marina Village is a lovely gem of a place. Only 35 mins from home but a perfect escape from reality. We took our 2 kids for the weekend and had a great time. Great place to spend time outdoors and the grounds have lots of places to walk. The lodge was a tad out dated but was clean and served us well. Beds are comfy! The village is fairly close as well as the train station. Lots of boats and trains to see. Only thing that would have made it better, would have been a play park for the kids. However, most of the people staying there are clearly retired. So it makes sense not to have one! We enjoyed it and will be back for sure!

A pleasant stay, but... A nice double room for two people, but only one chair, (plenty of room for two), only one one water glass in the en-suite (2 needed), one central light & two bedside lights, but no lighting over the mirror so the room was quite dim, limited sockets for charging phones, very thin curtains which didn't block out the early morning light. Our room was next to the reception area and we were woken both mornings at 5.44am by the sound of a loud vacuum cleaner, which went on for at least 20 minutes. This is despite the hotel having a no-noise policy from 11pm - 6am! We told reception about this after the first occasion, but it still happened again the next morning. I could not get back to sleep. So we got up and went for a lovely walk of 1.75 miles around the marina and lake, arriving at The Boathouse Cafe Bar at 9am when it was due to open, only to be told they were not opening until 10am that day. No apology! So we had to head off on our day's walk with no breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable, and the marina is lovely. The pubs in Roydon village were both great places to visit too.
