Opening hours not always as advertised, staff that grunt instead of speak, also don't think staff fully trained. I'm off to buy some ink, I shall purchase my postage online from now on. One star is being generous.

The review rate may be unfair for the pleasant staff that provides good costumer service, but there was a few times that I have been served by a rude lady and left the post office felling embarrassed.
Reading older reviews the same issues and apparently the same member of staff is always brought up.
From now on I will go to the Tesco Post Office, where I always have been treated with dignity.

Young lad ... said he was a manager probably the most unhelpful person I have ever met in my life. Shop was almost empty, maybe a few people, no line at the till. I hadn't realised that the post office was within the co-op and had my dog with me. I had walked twenty minutes to return a large parcel.
He point blank refused to a) take the pre paid parcel in eyes view of me, while I waited at the door, have it scanned and give me the receipt or b) watch my tiny dog (which I could have tied to a railing) both would have literally taken 1 minute!!!! Kept repeating they were short staffed !!!
Short staffed ... I have never heard or seen anything so ridiculous.. it was like a scene from a sit com !! Honestly I will dine out on that story forever 🤣🤣
Then a lovely lady who also worked in the shop intervened and was so helpful.

I am so grateful to the staff in this post office. I cannot believe some of the reviews. Who ever has served me in this post office has always been really helpful and I have never had anyone rude or unhelpful. I was new as an Ebay seller so I was not familiar with the options/ costs/package sizes etc. I wasn't made to feel stupid or a nuisance and they happily explained the options available. We are lucky to have a local post office and I can only thank them for their help and service.

I have always found the staff at this post office friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Yesterday a staff member went the extra mile and got in touch with me about a delivery. They are often very busy but always make my visit a happy one. Well done.

Closes at 10pm? Don't think so. 5.15pm at till PO counter. Staff: Post office shuts at 5. Me: You're supposed to shut at 10. Staff: No, store shuts at 10, post office at 5. Me: This is a post office counter that's advertised as being open til 10. Staff: OK, yes, but we haven't got anybody trained to do it. Not even an apology

Was served by an extremely rude lady here. She was immediately annoyed when I didn't know to put my box on the scales automatically and kept sighing as she was trying to scan a QR code for my return. At one point snatching the phone from my hand to scan it. I asked if they had any parcel tape so I could quickly seal up the top of the box that had come undone. To which she said annoyed 'It's up to the customer to package their own items if we packaged everyone's items up we'd have no time'. I said 'okay sorry about that no worries' and started walking away. Then she got out of her counter box and physically stopped me and put her hand on the box I was carrying and said 'This is the royal mails property now, do you understand?' and telling me off like a school child, she started talking to me very slowly in a rude tone explaining how now she had scanned the QR code I had to leave the box. She repeated again snapping 'Do you understand that?'. I looked around at everyone else in the post office queue and they looked uncomfortable. It was quite humiliating to be spoken to like that in front of a queue of people. She dropped some parcel tape by the box without saying anything like she was sulking. I can only imagine what would happen if someone handicapped were to encounter this woman. It's no way to speak to anyone who doesn't know exactly what to do.
