Some of the staff were pleasant and helpful, but one staff member in particular is rather rude, pushy and aggressive. When looking at phone protectors, I was asked if I needed help and just said I’m looking for my particular one. When the bloke couldn’t find it, he called over the “rude” staff member. After finding the item, he grunted and hardly spoke, just asking for me to pay. Once I questioned how much the item was, (massively overcharged) I politely said that I didn’t want the item anymore. The staff member became rude, questioning me and then insisting I buy it, even with the incentive that I pay with cash ( we know why that is…)

If you want cheap supplies for particular things, I’m sure this shop would suit you. If you don’t want an altercation and harassment, I’d avoid the shop.

If you are looking for a hardware store in Royston with a very poor customer service, I wholeheartedly and thoroughly recommend this store. Very rude staff.

Market One has a decent selection of random knick knacks, from kitchenware to crafts to party stuff to home organisation and more. However the items are almost all overpriced for the quantity and quality. It’s a good option to have in Royston but I only frequent the store when other local stores don’t have what I need or when I absolutely need to.

Is the stock extensive? Yes, certainly. Would I recommend it? Absolutely not anymore, having just been verbally abused - with no provocation - by a shockingly rude member of staff, and then treated as though I was to blame for the altercation. He was so quick to anger I genuinely thought he was going to assault me as well. ‘Customer service’ is clearly a concept that ceases to exist at the entrance, to put it VERY lightly. Not only will I never be entering the premises again, I will tell this story to everyone I know in Royston to ensure they don’t have to go through the same thing. Places like this give independent retailers a bad name. An absolute disgrace.

The store is packed with everything imaginable so it's very handy for household items . I have only left of one star because I think the welcoming atmosphere and customer service could be improved.

I have been a regular customer for years and purchased two LED bulbs. Both failed within a week and I returned them. The owner refused to replace or refund as I couldn't produce a receipt. He is the only shop that sells the brand I purchased. Like most people I don't keep all receipts.
He became abusive and said that he did not care that I was upset or that I felt like not continuing to be a customer.

Nice little store has a very good selection of goods from saucepans to saucebottles from wool to window blinds screws to screwdrivers. Even rugs furniture toys .cant say staff are very friendly tho. The old boy looks like he s been chewingva wasp lol

Useful shop for lots of items not so easy to buy in other shops. Not mega cheap but wide variety of useful hardware and other things. Take a look!
