My mate and I had a big day on the hills and with tired legs, accommodation nearby was a must. In the quaint village of Drumnadrochit, we found this place. Heading northbound on the A82, we took a left at ‘Nessieland’ and the hotel was immediately on the right.||We arrived at around 10pm at night - I pre-phoned the hotel and they kindly left our room key on the reception desk. Point to note, which somewhat dampened our night, was that there were no takeaways open after 10pm. Literally nothing. No fault of the hotel but one to take note of if arriving later in the evening.||With regard to the hotel parking, it was a bit of a shambles unfortunately - a real struggle to find anything with a lot of spaces, particularly up the hill, difficult to get into (especially in the dark).||The above being said, everything else was absolutely spot on. An affordable £60 each for the night, including Breakfast. A more than comfortable room (loved the traditional Scottish decor throughout the whole place), as well as a great shower. Lastly, the Breakfast (buffet style) was wonderful - the addition of Black Pudding and Haggis was definitely welcomed.||The waiting staff were accommodating and always kept the food topped up while the receptionist was very polite.||One note for improvement - Tea / Coffee facilities. No mugs or spoons (Costa takeaway cups instead) and no Biscuits. A little expert touch with this could go a long way.

First of all this is a late review, that has no baring on our experience!
I booked afternoon tea for my for Mother’s Day on the 15th of March 2025.

This was our first experience of Loch Ness Lodge Hotel and the whole family have been talking about it since.

My family and I have been searching for a place like this to celebrate occasions for a long time now and we we have certainly found it.

A beautiful setting, with stunning views, spectacular food and first class service!
It is rare to experience service as we did within Inverness, the staff were accommodating and professional and did a great job of making us feel special.

The general manager was kind enough to show us some of the rooms during our visit, which were beautifully done.

We look forward to staying here in the future and will be recommending Loch Ness Lodge to any visitors from now on!

This is an odd hotel in all the worst ways. Fundamentally a hotel should provide a comfy bed, unfortunately the mattress should’ve seen a skip a long time ago. I could feel every spring and it sank to a pancake if you sat on it. I had a terrible nights sleep and woke up with multiple insect bites!|The second thing it should provide is a good cup of tea. Again, this hotel fails miserably. The only place to plug the kettle in is on the floor, and only horrible disposable cups are provided! |We weren’t hopeful for breakfast after reading some other reviews but went down full of hope, only for it to feel hopeless pretty quickly. All of the cooked items were already cold. The warming trays they were using need looking at because they weren’t working at keeping anything warm. |This could be an excellent, non-chain, thoroughly Scottish hotel but this would require a major revamp. The decor needs some serious attention, it’s very shabby and not in a “traditional” kind of way. The refurb would need to address the bathrooms too, the shower is freezing cold or scalding hot with no inbetween. The ceiling is wallpapered which bubbles up with each shower, looks like it’s about to come off and then dries flat again! The mirrors have a brown tint on them all which makes doing makeup very difficult. I’m glad we only stayed one night at this hotel during our trip around Scotland, I would’ve struggled with 2 nights. The staff were friendly and the location was handy, hence the 2 stars.

I would give this place 3.5 stars. Its super cute and conveniently located next to the tourist centers in drumnadrochit.
Staff are very sweet and welcoming. Rooms are nice, what I expected for a lodge. Fairly neat although a few spiders. Bathrooms and all were neat I wouldn't complain. Shower heater mixer had issues as it was changing every few seconds from boiling hot to freezing cold.
Plug point was far away from one of the beds so bring a long cable.
Breakfast is decent. Dinner was very mediocre but priced very high! Barely any veg options.
Free parking on premises.
Very cute reading room outside the bar.
Felt safe for female travellers.

Recommend this place if you are visiting loch ness.

Not a bad experience by any means. However, the hotel gives the impression it was somebody's dream, a dream that died some time ago. Every aspect is one of lost romance and beauty, from the state of the rooms to the bar and restaurant. What should be added though, is that both the owner and the rest of the personnel were always friendly and helpful. Furthermore, the breakfast was decent.

Pretty good reviews meant our Hotel would be great. WRONG!!! From the state of the outside to the cold exacting velcom from Dracula's own birth child, alarm bells were ringing. The place resembled a mix between a seventies porn set and a Bay City Rollers Tribute with a musky hum. The place made us crawl. Breakfast was disgusting. It was poor quality, where beans were a highlight. Save your money sleep in the car!!!

We have had a wonderful stay.

We arrived to the news that there was limited water through no fault of the hotel. A local problem. Manager Leanne calmly dealt with a very difficult situation, made us very comfortable and welcome.

This lady needs a bonus for the day from hell!

Recently stayed here for 2 nights for a milestone birthday of mine. The hotel was very nice and comfortable. It is a very traditional Highland hotel, with a true and genuine Highland welcome. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. We were welcomed by the general manager, Leanne, who couldn't do enough for us. She was very knowledgeable about the hotel and surrounding area. After she booked us in, she escorted us to our room and explained the facilities to us. Our room had a 'veranda', which overlooked the grounds. This was nice, as we were able to sit out in the fresh air but still had the amenities of our room at hand.
We went down for dinner in the evening to the bar/restaurant. The a la carte menu was wonderful, and all the dishes sounded so delicious, it was so hard to choose which ones to have. I have dined in several hotel restaurants over the years, but wow! The food was absolutely amazing, the best I've ever had by a mile! After we had finished, the chef came out to see us and asked if we had enjoyed our meal, and our stay in general. That was a first for me. Such a nice touch. A while later the owners of the hotel came over and greeted us and introduced themselves. Donald and Gillian Skinner. Such a lovely couple who were genuinely interested if we were enjoying our stay. We had a good conversation with them, and were told all about the history of the hotel and it was very interesting indeed. In the morning we went down for breakfast. Again, we were not dissapointed. We had a buffet style full scotch breakfast. I have to say, the bacon and sausages were the tastiest ever! It was a nice touch to have haggis with it too. Overall it was a wonderful 2 days and I cannot recommend The Loch Ness Lodge Hotel enough. If you want a relaxing time in a traditional Highland hotel surrounded by beautiful scenery, then this is the place for you! 10/10. Would definitely stay here again.
