A real treat on every level! Me and my partner enjoy eating out quite regularly, and over the years we’ve found that if you want a truly amazing and memorable experience then you’re far better off steering clear of the big chain restaurants and instead searching out highly regarded independent restaurants, such as Island in Worcester.

Our most recent trip was on one of their excellent Meze Nights – three courses, with multiple mouth-watering dishes per course, offering superb quality and quantity at a very reasonable price. The place was full, without feeling overcrowded, with a lively, joyful atmosphere and gentle Greek music playing in the background – which honestly made us feel transported from a cold and wet Worcester to a sunny, faraway Greek land.

We were taken care of beautifully by the owner/chef and members of his family, and had several entertaining, funny and fascinating chats with him throughout the night. It was great to hear the story of how Island came to be, and a little bit about the recipes and techniques used to create their delicious dishes. The whole family really do know how to treat their customers and make them feel special and welcome. It genuinely makes all the difference because you get a whole experience, not just a fabulous meal.

Even amongst the many lovely restaurants we’ve been fortunate enough to visit over the years, Island really does stand out. We can’t recommend it highly enough, and we hope Island is here to stay for many more years to come, so we can return whenever we want something extra special. Thanks guys!!

Great little place for a meal. Food was amazing, really reminded me of being back in Greece. The owner is lovely, and the waitress was really so helpful when choosing the best dishes. Will definitely be back again next time I'm in the area.

An absolute gem of a Greek restaurant.
My first time here and it definitely won't be my last the food here is fantastic.
Highly recommend the platters they are big and perfect for sharing I would really like to come back for the seafood ones as they looked amazing sadly not being delivered to my table but this is a great excuse to go back for more of this incredible Greek cuisine.
The service here is also grade A helpful friendly staff and we were even treated to a shot of Ouzo to finish.

Tuesday evening booking, four of us in Worcester for a 2 day break. Very warm welcome. The ‘patron’ and his staff were friendly, entertaining and fun… particular thanks to our two waitresses who were wonderful. Excellent food. My photo of the lamb does NOT do it justice… fell ‘off the bone’ tender and tasty. Good wine 🍷 good recommendations. Made me wish I lived nearer to Worcester. Cracking evening. TOP night out.

Went there tonight. Very lovely staff, fantastic food and great atmosphere. Highly recommend! It was mine and my friends second time dining at Island and I recommend it to all my friends and it deserves all the best!

Oh my! What a gem!

We go to Greece once a year and were very excited to find this family run restaurant and what a joy it was! The food was simply stunning!

They only serve Greek wine (as they should) and let you try it before purchasing a glass or bottle so you know you will like it which is unusual but absolutely brilliant.

The halloumi was just perfect and I loved the Greek potatoes and tzatziki! All the meats were really great as well.

Oh and the cherry port at the end was truly a cherry on top 🙂

The atmosphere is just lovely. Felt like a night in Greece. Cannot wait to come again, thank you for a wonderful night. Yamas! 🙂

I'm glad I discovered this restaurant. Such a nice place. Friendly staff and the food is absolutely delicious and they serve big portions. Highly recommended to visit! P.S.: make a reservation because it fills up quickly.

All four of us agreed it was one of the best meals we've had anywhere! Alex really looked after us with the wine choices and general advice. We got a seafood platter, a meat platter and a moussaka and all shared. It was so tasty. Happy Birthday Constantine. We'll definitely be back.
