I popped into Ice Peak today to get out of the rain and I'm very glad I did. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable - they were telling me that they have recently taken the shop over from previous owners (who are mentioned in the earlier reviews) and are keen to make it as welcoming as possible, which it absolutely is. I took advantage of the sale to get a new coat and some fantastic boots. I needed some advice to get the best boots for me and found that the assistant was knowledgeable and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and I was able to try on lots of different models and sizes until I found a pair that were absolutely perfect - and which I wouldn't have even picked up if I hadn't had the extra advice. If you find yourself near Cockermouth and in need of good quality outdoor equipment, I would really recommend this shop. We hope to visit again!

The man at the shop was very friendly and gave me some great advice when I needed some new walking boots, they were very comfortable and he wasn't trying to upsell me things I didn't need. 10/10 service and would definitely recommend the products

I went in today for new pair of boots as needed some and waterproof jacket.. even splashed out on new pair of boots for the wife ( let's hope she uses them!!)

Was helped by Dan to choose walking boots - they felt so comfortable that I decided to buy 2 pairs, one lighter and one heavierweight. One month later both have about 100 miles on the clock and have been thoroughly tested in the Lake District, Snowdonia and Scotland and are the two best pairs of walking boots I ever bought

Under new management since our last visit, staff (Dan) are really friendly and helpful. They stayed open late to help us and was a great source of honest information. He spent the time to find the right walking boots for me.
