I would strongly advise others not to use this platform. My experience with Freetrade has been stressful and disappointing. The platform charges a monthly fee of £5.99 for their Standard plan, totalling £71.88 annually, which I find excessive for the services provided. Additionally, transferring stock to another provider incurs a fee of £17 per holding, and the process is not straightforward; it can take months to complete. Customer service has been poor, with slow response times and inadequate support. Overall, I would caution potential users to thoroughly research and consider alternative platforms before committing to Freetrade.

I had invested in some shared on Freetrade platform. Then decided to withdraw. But Freetrade wont let me do it. They said the bank account (I transferred money earlier to freetrade account) isn’t verified. To verify I need to send them 1£ frim bank account. I did it. After a week they sent 1£ back saying we can’t verify. They asked me to repeat process. I did transfer 1£ again. After a week Freetrade regunded 1£, but not the money I’ve asked to withdraw. Then they asked me to upload a bank statement to verify bank account. I did it twice. They said they cant verify. So Freetrade Ltd taked money from customers but never returns. Its a scam company.

Scammer of investors and customers. Please chose to use a professional investment platform instead of using Freetrade that lacks transparency and operates on questionable policies

It’s a great app for investing, but you need a considerable amount invested to make the fees work for you. Also the customer service is excellent, very responsive and friendly.

Read all the 1 star reviews. Freetrade is irony in itself as It’s all about “Fees” . They operate in a very borderline fraudulent way. Designed to trap you into fees. One method is to lock /freeze your account unless you pay. Another by not allowing you to trade/sell stock that has been “frozen”. If you don’t pay the fees you can’t communicate. On paying and complaining they state they will refund fees but as you can guess - they avoid. closing account incredibly difficult . So simple advice , don’t fall for the name and AVOID from the start.

Best trading app in the UK by far, have a best in class interface and usability is so smooth. Way better than Trading 212 and all the archaic competition. You are missing out if you haven't joined Freetrade yet!

I would steer well clear of Freetrade, it simply isn't worth the risk when there are so many other competitors who are up to the task. The interface is well thought out, however when things go wrong their customer support is tragic. I will be moving back to HL.

UPDATE. 2 months down the line and Freetrade are still unable/unwilling to transfer my pension to my new provider. I have lost all faith in them and can't wait to see the back of them. I can't believe the fact that they don't publish any contact details didn't get my alarm bells ringing before I signed up with them.
My suspicion is I am one of the many who have been lured in by cheap fees, only to then realise that they are cheap for a very good reason. Never again!
