What a charming hotel!! It fulfilled our Scotland dreams! The room was warm due to the towel warmer, but we opened the window and it was perfect! We listened to seagulls in the morning!! We were with a large party. We spent hours enjoying the Game Room and bar into the late hours. We laughed and enjoyed this beautiful Scottish hotel. The staff were warm and welcoming! We rode the hotel bikes to the beach, golfed and enjoyed wonderful food from the hotel and in town. The recommend spa was absolutely amazing as well!!

Update - Like other customers, I was charged twice by mistake. I paid online and didn't receive a confirmation email, so thought it hadn't worked. Phoned the hotel and they said there was no booking for me (but the price had gone up by about £150) so I booked again. Both payments taken when I left, a total of over £1.5k. Really frustrating!

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel, but I have to agree with some of the other reviews; it's slightly let down by its staff, who are really friendly but not as well trained as they should be. This is absolutely not the fault of the staff themselves, and everyone I spoke to was very polite and helpful. The operation just isn't as slick as it should be for the price. I booked the spa package, and two members of hotel staff contacted me to ask me to book in, when the spa had already contacted me directly to arrange this.

The cocktails are incredible and there's a wide variety of options at breakfast. It was very warm when we stayed, and we were saved by the fan in our room! The room was spotless, and the bed was really comfortable. Stunning views. We'd love to come back!

Very nice hotel with beautiful surroundings. The golfers paradise. The staff is generally very friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
But if you are a light sleeper, it might not be the best hotel for you. The seagulls are very, very loud, and the rooms are too warm to sleep with windows closed (and even with closed windows, it's still very bird noisy).
The bathrooms in some rooms are missing toilet lid and toilet brush. (Had to change rooms). The cleaning staff often fails to empty trash and replace towels and toilet paper. The mini fridge in the room was not working - everything was room temperature.
The food in the restaurant is mostly very tasty but varies from day to day (we got 3 very different Cesar salads on different days).
Would stay again, but I would definitely check the room condition before checking in.

Stunningly beautiful Hotel. Staff very helpful and attentive and the food is top class! Excellent breakfast choice and warm and comfortable beds. I will be back!!!

Service is horrendous. Was staying next door and bartender made us feel like second class citizens despite being very quiet. Peyton Manning and his partners would be very embarrassed with this. Wonderful property and renovation - bravo ! But please have the staff be educated on how to make folks feel appreciated and take care of customers (who are glad to spend lots of money). Andrew made wonderful drinks but was abysmal at taking care of customers.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The service was terrible from the moment I arrived. Staff were rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. The rooms are extremely small and cramped, with barely any space to move around. Cleanliness was also a huge problem: housekeeping pretty much did nothing, they didn’t even bother to make the bed let alone change the sheets. To make matters worse, there was no air conditioning in the rooms, making it unbearably uncomfortable, especially at night. Even something as simple as dry cleaning service was horrible. They had me bring down and pick up my clothes from the reception, and the clothes were still dirty and more wrinkled than when I had dropped them off. For the price, this hotel offers nothing close to value—just frustration and disappointment. I will definitely not be returning.

Beautifully located with sea views and a gorgeous sandy beach nearby — perfect for family walks. The refurbishment is tasteful and respectful of the hotel’s history. However, service falls short: breakfast is slow and understaffed, and room servicing is inconsistent — used cups left, and tea/toiletries not refreshed. A charming place, but let down by 3-star-level service.

This was the most beautiful hotel we stayed at during our trip around Scotland. Beautifully designed. Dinner at the Golden Grouse was delicious!
