A beautiful ancient ruin to visit with really wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and the village.

While it was a little busy when we visited (because it was Easter Weekend), the castle grounds did not feel crowded and it was pleasant to wander around.

Getting the tickets to enter was also very quick and easy.

Would recommend getting to the castle early mainly to get better parking spots, as those fill up quick (again probably because it was Easter Weekend).

Visit on a calm warm and a clear day. Views are spectacular. Use the car park in the village for the best access. Excellent bakery for picnic just inside the main gate. The information around the ruins is a little basic so best to read up before going to visit. Lots of walks around the site with plenty of options for a drink once you are finished. Best to visit outside the main holiday season too many visitors would spoil the site.

Kings View is fantastic. Had an excellent visit in early January with very good weather. Clear sunny day. Very friendly helpful staff. Plenty to see and a very good story teller. It is a very good castle to visit. Very pleased we could book to go up and see Kings View. Fabulous view but also very interesting seeing the door up close. Very knowledgeable guide too. It won't be available for long I understand so even if you have been before this is well worth another visit.

Great place to visit, although it is not ideal for those with mobility difficulties. Steep climb to the keep. Great views, great amenities, and so much history to devour. Parking nearby is reasonable. Parked at the Corfe Castle/Corfe railway carpark. 4 quid for 10 hours.. but it's a 3/4 mile walk from here to the castle. If you don't want or can't walk that far their are two car parks closer. Great day out for the whole family

Fantastic place to visit, with or without kids. Abundance of information about the history of the castle available as well as helpful staff on hand to answer any questions. Spectacular views from the remains of the keep. Keep an eye out for the steam train as it travels by. The destructive power used in the civil war to cripple this stronghold is clearly seen throughout the castle, particularly in the gatehouse to the keep. Well with a visit

Absolutely breathtaking! Corfe Castle is a must-see if you’re exploring Dorset. Managed by the National Trust, this dramatic ruin is perched high on a hill, offering stunning panoramic views of the Purbeck countryside. The site is steeped in history — from Saxon beginnings to Civil War drama — and you can really feel the stories in every stone.

It’s a brilliant spot for families: kids will love exploring the towers and secret corners, and there are often fun trails and reenactments throughout the year. The village below is picture-perfect, with cosy cafés and pubs, and the steam train from Swanage makes getting there part of the experience.

Tip: wear good walking shoes, and don't miss the climb to the top — the views are worth it! A wonderful mix of history, scenery, and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

The castle looks quite impressive although a ruin. The castle was actually closed for staff training when we visited so we could explore the village in peace and quiet which was nice. The village is beautiful, stone buildings and traditional shops and pubs, quaint streets and village.
