A LOT OF PROMISES BUT LITTLE ACTION!
BE AWARE OF THE ROLLING CONTRACT!
Tenants stopped paying rent and CDI told me I had a good chance of getting my money. I paid CDI a fee which turned out to be a 12 month rolling contract - a con because in the first year all they do is send letters (post only, not hand delivered) and then they sit back saying we need to give the tenants time to respond. In the end, I was told tenants don't have any assets to claim and I would need to go to court and pay additional fees to the courts and of course their 12 month rolling contract fee for the second year in which I gave up!

Paid for their service for a year and then it kept pestering for payment for the second year which we have not sign nor renew the contract. Email was sent to cancel service bust still sending emails for payment.

Absolutely shambles!! Received payment from the company who owed us money but CDI took commission from the payment which we will receive it anyway without their intervention.

They take months upon months to chase debts, and completely drag out the whole process to ensure they get you to subscribe for another year

I had a court order produced in December 2024, this was issued to commercial and domestic that month, by June 2025 they had still not assigned it to a high Court Enforcement company. They had been chasing this debt for you previous to this and got absolutely nowhere with it

I escalated the court order to a high Court Enforcement company and they enforced it and collected the money within 3 weeks from start to finish. Commercial and domestic didn't even get this far in 6 months

Every time you ring you get fobbed off with different reasons and various things that have happened along the way, just full of lies. Don't waste your money with these cowboys, take the debt on yourself you will be more successful and save yourself the money.

We hired Commercial and Domestic Investigations over four years ago after suffering a significant financial loss when another business went into administration. C&DI insisted there would be a great possibility of recouping our losses by going after the Directors for fraudulent trading. We were initially told there would be a one-time fee, but the fine print stated otherwise, and we found ourselves locked into a rolling 12-month contract.

We continued the agreement based on repeated promises that progress was imminent and that they were confident we would recover our money. They also assured us that any recovered funds would be ours in full, with their fees to be charged to the directors of the dissolved company.

To date, the only payment we've received came from the administrators—an amount we would have received automatically without C&DI's involvement. Nevertheless, they took a substantial portion as this fee.

We would caution others to be extremely careful when dealing with this company, as they appear to take advantage of businesses during their most vulnerable time.

CDI - Complete Deceitful Incompetence.
Paid £1600 for these clowns to chase a debt from Company who went into liquidation. Exceptionally poor performance and communication over the last 9 months with no progression month on month. Asked for reimbursement, but GM insisted this would not be discussed unless my review on "Trust Pilot" was revoked. I gave a "Poor review for a Poor Service"!
Certainly not being further manipulated into supporting a truly awful experience, for other victims to fall foul - rather others know the truth about CDI.
No proof of any chasing with debtor and only contacted me once my negative review had been uploaded.
3 debts chased and no monies ever recovered for me?
Spent my time chasing CDI rather than the debtor.
Do not be fooled and waste anytime or further monies.

Total waste of money.

Selling you the dream about collecting debts, 2 years later and nothing recovered.

Everytime you call, they advise someone will phone you back and no one bothers. You send an email you may be lucky to get a reply 3 weeks later.

Company absolutely useless.

I was a customer of this company for a year, and they were tasked with collection on 3 of my customers. They failed on them all. All I got was an update once a month informing me they had done very little to move forward and the updates were always the same as the month before. I believe they don't have any enforcement staff, so they just ask politely, In my opinion, if it was that easy, you wouldn't need companies like this to collect outstanding debt.

Also, be very careful as they will do their best to trap you in an auto renewing 12-month contract and in return they won't do anything.
