Great first experience and swim. I was a bit wary about trying, but couldn't have been more impressed. From Ian helping on the phone with extra accommodations to greeting me in person. Thanks also to Tam and Sally for helping me set up an account with patience.
The pool was lovely and clean, changing rooms spotless and a lovely atmosphere.
I am recovering from a slipped disc in my back, the whole team were lovely and caring to the point that a male lifeguard took the time to check in that I was ok.
Really lovely place with a great vibe.
Thank you!

Visited on 26/8/25 bank holiday Monday (28 degrees) , arrived around 4.30pm and only had to wait 5 minutes to get in. The staff were lovely and the pool was clean and well maintained. Water did feel a little chilly but once you was in it soon warmed up.
Definitely worth a visit if youโ€™re in the area.

This is a wonderful local lido facility. It has a child's pool and an adult pool. The child's pool has toys for the kids and the adults pool has a small slide. There is plenty of seating and a little cafe that sells hot drinks and snacks. The changing rooms are spacious and very clean. You have to pay to use the showers but they're really well kept. The parking is tough but I parked in a local car park and walked to it with the kids.

All in all for 2 adults and 2 kids it cost my ยฃ16 and there was no time limit to using it.

Excellent place; staff, lifeguards and volunteers are very friendly and helpful; pool is large, clean and warm and; pools have a good range of depths, from a baby/toddler pool to a pool with shallow and deep sections for all swimming abilities. Facilities are on site including: changing areas, toilets, lockers, showers, benches, floatation devices and a food and drink shack.
Online booking and drop-in sessions are both easy to do.
However, no parking is available dedicated to the Open Air Pool, so car parks nearby must be used to then walk to the destination.

Lovely outdoor swimming pool! Originally opened up in 1870! It is heated but only heated to 26 degrees, so can be still cold ๐Ÿฅถ - the facilities are lovely and clean! Tuck shop is reasonably prices! They have loads of seating area and they encourage you bring your own food! They dont have bins but will take their own rubbish back! As they recycle and the public werent doing it probably! Another downside is the isnt any parking on site, so we parked at abbey grounds and walks through some public footpaths, about 5-10min walk. The is 1 slide and the is a little pool for little ones and they have some water toys for children to play with! Also the isnt a time limit on your stay, we turned up at 2pm when drop inn swim time opens and we stayed til 4.30pm.

We visited the pool for the first time today. We parked at one of the public car parks and walked about 10 mins to the pool. We were anxious about whether it would be too busy and whether we'd get into the drop in session (and had a back-up plan), but we went straight in with no queue and were told there was actually space for lots more people. Prices are great. The pool and changing facilities were cleaner and in better condition than Wiltshire Council-run leisure centres. And when there were enough lifeguards on duty, the slide (8+, otherwise adult needed in attendance) was a big hit. The refreshments hut served various instant snacks (teas, coffees, packaged ice creams). We'll certainly return some time! Also, everyone except the lifeguards are volunteers, so be kind. They're giving up their time to run it.

Lovely open air pool, built before the became known as lidos. Unlike many I have frequented they do have a pin badge for those of us who chase lidos. A cloth/sew on one would be the ultimate ๐Ÿ˜ There is a lovely riverside walk to get to it and only a 10 min walk from the town car parks. The back drop of the old barracks is quite impressive. The pool has a small tuck shop and whilst no lawns to lazy upon, there are plenty of benches and a paved terrace. For those coming a long way (we had a 2 hour drive) they operate drop in sessions which helps for timing your swim. Changing rooms would benefit from a spinner for swimming costumes that's me being picky! I would rate it 8 out of 10
