Sometimes you just stumble on someplace lovely. We were on our way into North Wales and just needed to take a leg stretch, saw this one indicated from the road.

Lovely aspect, great espresso/cappuccino and the best millionaires shortbread we ever had. So good that we made a point of stopping again on the way back home!

Super friendly with our dogs as well.

If you're here to fish, this is a spot for your paperwork too.

During our travels through Wales, we stumbled upon what can only be described as a breakfast paradise. This café isn't just a place to eat—it's an experience. With a stunning view of the lake that instantly puts you at ease, it’s the perfect spot to start your day.

The food? Outstanding. Whether you're going for the hearty full English, a fresh wrap, or a perfectly cooked omelette, every dish is packed with flavor and clearly made with care. The coffee deserves its own shoutout—this isn’t your run-of-the-mill cup. It’s proper, rich, roasted coffee that coffee lovers will genuinely appreciate.

But what truly sets this place apart is the staff. Warm, welcoming, and full of local charm, they were hands down the friendliest people we met on our entire trip through Wales. Their kindness and attentiveness made the whole experience even more memorable.

If you're anywhere near this café, don’t miss it. It’s the kind of place you’ll wish you could take home with you.

You can eat cheaply (classic basic menu) and walk along the lake, stopping at the power plant.

My parents and stopped here momentarily before going on our bike ride around the lake, the food was lovely but the service of the food was incredibly slow, I understand with it being the bank holiday weekend it can be a busier time, but for three hot drinks and two cakes it seemed to take longer then expected.

We came back after our bike riding hoping to just get three sandwiches to take away with us but seemed to take a while for those to be brought out to us. None of the servers came up to ask if we were waiting on food or inform us about the delay. Unhygienic doesn’t seem to be the word to use when the coffee machine doesn’t seemed to be cleaned after each use to make the milk, and servers didn’t seem to wash hands prior to handling food especially after they’ve handle money. Serves didn’t off informative options for items that weren’t on the menu, for example the fillings of the sandwich’s.

Apart from this, the food was lovely and location was great with lovely views of the lake and the old power station.

So pleased to see this cafe is back open. Lovely staff and great food. A great place to refuel after a ride or walk around Llyn Trawsfynydd. Outside seating too with stunning views of the lake. Please do pay them a visit and support them. There is a large gravel car park less than 100 metres past the cafe which is free 😊.

First visited last Wednesday, on parking the car not sure exactly which part cafe was, on entering see lots of tables are by the window overlooking the lake, even better, tables outside next to the lake, fabulous location, beautiful view, ordering are food staff were very friendly and helpful, food is good and reasonably priced, to finish off excellent home made cakes, very peaceful surroundings ,pleasant walk around the lake after lunch.
Returned today on our way home, food excellent again, most of the front of house staff were young people, those I saw,quite a few, all working hard, doing a great job, they are a credit to the cafe

A lovely cafe with friendly staff and gorgeous views across the lake. The car park is free and there are easily accessible walks along each the of the lake and past the power station. Highly recommended
