We stayed here as two friends on a weekend getaway. We had the twin room which has no view but other than that it was just perfect. Plenty of space and fresh bathroom, good beds, lovely decor and coffee/tea etc. even a complimentary welcome tipple. We were super pleasantly surprised and this continued with the evening meal we had. We love the carefully chosen ingredients and quality. It was all delicious and the staff made us feel super welcome and were always attentive and friendly but never intrusive. Breakfast menu was nothing short of amazing too. The bar area is also a super cosy place to come back to after a long walk or outing. We enjoyed our stay so much and wish to send compliments and thanks to the Kieran and the team who all looked after us so well.

What grabbed our preference was , dog friendly pub, and it is. Not that I have a dog but it speaks to the warmth of the venue that they care about that. We dropped in in planned and without a table reserved on a jsy Saturday night and still they made room for us; with friendly attentive staff who care for your comfort in the restaurant. The food was delicious and considered and served with thoughtfulness to the guest ,

We plan. To come back and try the rooms overnight but certainly we want to come back this place is worth a moment to enjoy .

We were looking for a place to stay in the village and this looked the nicest. |We booked it via Booking.com for £120 on a B&B basis.|The pub does not have parking, but luckily on a Sunday you can park on the street for free until 11am on Monday. On other days I guess you would try and get in the National Trust Car Park at the other end of the High Street.|The pub is a lovely old tudor building, but that comes with some compromises.|We arrived too early for check in and had a drink in the bar before heading elsewhere for lunch, then returned later to check in.|The rooms have names and we were in Hilda which overlooks the front of the pub and the High St.|It was a clean, although there was an odd stain on the side of the matress that was visible below the sheets.|It is a tight little room, with one chair, a TV, tea, coffee & biscuits, but no mirror (there is one on the bathroom).|The bathroom is a rain shower, with a big step up to it.|We were worried that the pub would be noisy, but that was not the case. It was the sound insulation to the road outside and the bathroom next door that impacted our sleep the most. There was some traffic throughout the night, so it was not easy to get back to sleep if you woke up.|This would have been worse if we had wanted to open the window, although there was a fan in the room.|Breakfast was excellent. A nice selection of cereals and pastries, plus a fully cooked option too.|It's a nice quaint pub that is trying very hard to provide a good service.

Dropped in for lunch on a quiet Monday after 2pm so happy to find lunch still being served. Great welcome, no rush, lovely staff, a beautiful old pub with a traditional bar and more glamorous dining areas including a secluded garden. Our dog was welcome in the bar. Delicious starters and mains, freshly cooked, piping hot and attractively served. Sadly no room for pudding...Very reasonable bill.

Visited here with my partner for the night, enjoyed a wonderful stay in a very comfortable and clean room. Staff made us feel very welcome, especially the lovely waitress at breakfast. Very well located in a beautiful village and conveniently located to nearby towns. I would highly recommend.

Stayed here for a night including having an evening meal.
The building itself is fantastic with an old style front section and a more modern open space at the rear. Garden outside is really lovely too.
Staff were incredibly welcoming and showed all 3 of us to our individual rooms. The waiter that evening was superb too.
Food was incredibly good albeit priced a bit high and the margarita was a bit lacking. Breakfast was spot on.
Rooms were really well equipped although in the old building the windows wouldn't open so it got a bit warmer than I like.
Absolutely would return.

We stayed here as a couple and it was perfect. Room was lovely, spotless and with everything we needed. Comfortable bed and quality linen. We ate dinner and had the roast pork. Very lovely meal. Breakfast was exceptional. All in all a great experience.

Went there for a Sunday Roast. Staff were extremely polite and, friendly and so welcoming. The place itself is very nice inside and the beer garden is big and so well kept. Tables are not cramped together. Definitely recommend a visit. My partner and I will definitely be returning again.
