Terrible Online Ordering and Refund Experience

I placed two separate online orders at Asda Westbrook for items listed on their website. As usual, they did not have them in stock—which is a recurring issue—but instead of simply canceling or notifying me, they replaced both orders with completely unrelated items. The total amount paid remained the same, but the substitutions were completely useless.

When I went to the store to request a refund, only one order was refunded, while the other was rejected without reason. I had to attend the store FOUR TIMES, leaving my personal details and order number with store managers, yet nothing was resolved.

Ultimately, I had to open a dispute through my credit card—and shockingly, Asda is now trying to challenge it! Even though they refunded one order, they refuse to refund the other, despite both being identical cases.

On top of this, Asda misleads customers with their online pricing and stock availability. Their online checkout automatically selects "Allow Substitutions" by default, which is completely unfair and against buyers' rights. Customers should have the right to opt-in, not be forced into unwanted replacements.

Even worse, Asda charges a £0.50 picking fee—yet when you request a refund, they do not refund this fee. This is an abusive and deceptive practice.

I am prepared to challenge this because Asda's handling of online orders, replacements, and refunds is unacceptable. Beware before ordering online—you might not get what you paid for, and getting a refund could be a nightmare!

Asda, do better! 🚫

Store itself was very good, nice, big and modern ASDA. Car park is just way too small for the size of the shop and considering what else is around here as well.

The C&C service is appalling. The lockers are always broken so you have to queue up at customer service. Then they have to repeatedly tannoy for someone to get your shopping for you which this week took over 15 minutes. Then it's all loose in totes and you have to bend down and get it all out and into a trolley. Items were squashed underneath heavy items and then your trolley gets jammed on the magnetic barriers at the exit because you haven't been through a till to deactivate it. It's an absolute nightmare and I've decided I'm never using this service again.

Self service checkouts don't work properly but its not their fault, just technology! Was asked to check with my bank to see if funds had gone out. That would not be helpful if I was an elderly person with no smartphone.
Changing rooms unkempt and grubby.
Staff calling customers 'lovely ' in a patronising tone. Are these people trained in customer service at all

I went to take an amazon parcel back twice 1st time 3 staff were trying to figure out how to work the machines and labels. Waited half hour and took parcel amd left went back yesterday and they took my parcel but told me to take it out of the box as it won't fit into their post bags what a joke never had to do that. Then today had a delivery wasn't told any substitute until I unpacked. The staff in there are unreal at packing shopping because I ordered a brush and pan set I got a scrubbing brush? if its not there don't put anything in. Asda please you need to train your staff better and the website is rubbish can't chat to anyone or email either . What a joke

In here now. Toilets absolutely reek. Not of pee or crap, but some unknown vile stench. Pretty poor for 08.20am. Empty soap dispensers. There used to be a list of when it was last cleaned on the back of the door, but that has been removed. Standards slipping...the new normal for Asda Westbrook. One good thing, no miserable accordion music from the waster outside this morning, he must not be out of bed yet.

Mens toilets were disgusting, no soap in any of the dispensers and general lack of cleaning elsewhere. You cannot tell me that the soap run out since the last cleaning whenever that was. Makes you question whether the staff wash their hands.

Too busy. The whole place has the feel of somewhere where noone really cares. The car park is controlled by one of those greedy car park operators so park here and shop here at your own risk.
