Overall I had good experiences buying at this store. Staff are always helpful and kind. However, the pizza counter had the oven not working for almost 9 months now and every time I want anything cooked I have to buy at Sainsbury’s. I asked once to report it and no one called me back. They should really buy another oven and stop giving excuses to keep the same faulty one.

Brilliant store. Really helpful staff especially Karen Louise, Julie, and Alison. Always smiling, and I always leave the store feeling better than when I arrived!

Frankly, this place is the stuff of nightmares, and I say that as a Washington resident and regular shopper. Their stock control is appalling; can't remember ever getting everything I needed in one shop. Luckily, there is a Sainsburys within a couple of minutes walk to top up on the things that are inevitably out of stock.

This was also one of, if not the first store to apparently disregard all.of the COVID-19 precautions. Whilst Sainsbury's still monitor numbers of shoppers and restrict access, this seems to be a free for all with no restrictions or any effort in regard to social distancing, not that the patrons ever followed the one way system anyway even at the peak.

Price wise, they are still OK, but I've now switched to click and collect and the stress of being in store in the current climate is too much. This service is great except the aforementioned poor stock control meaning regular returns of substituted items that aren't welcome.

I'd suggest avoiding the in store experience unless unavoidable. I hugely admire the staff who have to deal with the walking dead customers and made worse by appalling stock availability. If you are nervous about coronavirus, dont even think about visiting.

To summarise, I think this remains the best value:quality supermarket but not sure its worth the hassle... Wouldn't come anywhere near the place if it wasnt on my doorstep...

Staff are great though and will do anything they can to help, just a shame they are hindered by appalling protocols and (lack of) stock availability.

Update July 23: I still stand by all of the above. If anything stock control is worse. They also seem to be becoming a limited range store with more and more products on their website but not on shelves. If you want to go to Asda and you can, go to Boldon instead.

Update Oct 23. Was speaking to staff member today who confirmed a number of products aren't stocked here and are only at 'larger stores'. Whilst this branch may not be on the same scale as Boldon or the Metrocentre, it certainly can't be described as small so I find this surprising.

Prices are going up as expected but in some cases the quality is coming down. Clean and spacious store, nice and friendly staff who work hard.

Hello again!
Apparently you don't give a penny to your online costumers as long as you don't take any measures towards your staff at the pick up Uber and Just Eat orders!
For few weeks, your colleague Rebeca was off sick, and things were running a bit better, with helpful and friendly staff handing out every order to the drivers.
This week,Rebecca returned to work, and things are back to their worse side, unpolite, long waiting time and costumers waiting hours to get their orders.
What surprised me is that she went back to her previous habits of smoking outside in front of passing costumers. We are told that we can't sit in front the emergency exit doors, but that is where she and another colleague of hers were smoking, and costumers were passing. I do not think that is very ethical to stand and smoke in front of the business and costumers too.
They saw me coming towards them to ask about the order I had to pick up,and suddenly they dropped their cigarettes and went quickly inside, just to avoid me and make me wait long time outside.
What can I say: very professional!
Is anyone there willing to look into all these problems and change things?

I am doing this complaint for a special member of ASDA,the blonde skinny manager called Laura. I am a delivery driver who picks up orders from there for more than 4 years. Why she does not realise that the orders that we come to collect are orders done by ASDA costumers, and to have that kind of attitude towards them is a total disgrace. She is very very rude, let's us drivers wait at the door long long time, ignores us completely. You hear them moving trolleys inside but don't bother opening the door. Many times it happened ( and is a normal habit there) the orders to be ready for collection and to be told they are not,.This is what Laura does,as instead of cancelling the order when told that is not ready,I have waited few minutes ad went back and someone else answered and gave me the orders as they were ready. All her attitude is a complete lack of respect towards us drivers who maybe come from far to pick an order from there and loose time and money, and on the same time is a lack of respect towards your costumer who put through those orders. We get messages and calls from the costumers asking us what is going on and when are their orders going to be delivered.
Today, on my last order that I had to pick up from Asda ,I have waited 30 min knocking at the door and ringing the phone numbers, together with another driver from Asda who was bringing back retur orders, and he could also see and hear her attitude and language .
Why nobody takes this situation seriously and does proper changed there?
I really hope that my review will be seen by all the Asda costumers and realise what is going on there.
Whenever new employees come at Asda,at the beginning they are fine, but shortly you notice that that kind of language and behaviour is passed on to them,as is something normal. That is why I have seen many many staff members quiting working for Asda, who had lots of experience and very well trained, just because managers like Laura.
I know many exAsda costumers, some of them where everyday costumers, who switched to Sainsbury and Coop ordering platform just because they were fed up with everything that is going on at Asda.
Thank you very much for your time and I hope changed will be done and seen there soon.

The staff i talked to were lovely and friendly. Stocked up well but a tad busy. Also have a cake shop inside, and they look scrumptious.
