Asda St. Matthews Superstore - Walsall

Me and my family come to this Asda very often. He prices are good and the staff are kind. They have an Asda rewards app which offers a variety of discounts. The store is large and nicely set out. When you enter first thing there are the clothes then as you gradulaay go through it goes from gifts and household items and then goes to the food. They are always stocked and it is a great place to shop.

Store manager Kevin has ZERO empathy and could definitely do with some customer service training. Where do they hire these people?

Visited the store with elderly parents during a busy ramadan weeked and shopping took a little longer than usual, a week later received a parking fine for staying over by half hour... Spoke to store manager Kevin who, in a round about way, told me to do one. He was completely unhelpful and seemed perfectly happy to lose a loyal customer over such a trivial matter.

Cheerio Asda St. Matthews, been a loyal customer for more than a decade just to get treated like that, won't be getting any more money from me or my family. 👍

I do shop here alot and get most what I need ,,I think staff are ok especially pat on tills she is always so polite and cheerful however I do think this store has been spoilt,,all the little outlets that are now shut down they need a little cafe put back the cafe upstairs use to get used alot ,,the opticians are really good,,the new owners need to sort out what to do with the closed down units there just wasting space

I have been to this Asda for years, and I think it’s ok, it’s better than blowich asda.
I think the staff do the best they can especially with how I have seen customer treat them specially at the checkout. I have seen people being ridiculous rude and dense to staff members and the staff members continue to help.
I worked in retail for a long time so I understand that security has to be specious of everyone - I saw a comment about how this man told a security guard who was hoovering around that he make more than him, but if he makes more than him he would have enough intelligence to know what manners are and that people are just doing their jobs, they don’t know people on a person level so they are going to look at everyone.
I speak personally to many of the staff and many are lovely and are ready to help but I have seen it time and time again that customers have no patience, I have seen the staff helping someone and other customers shouting, or clicking or just being generally rude toward the staff…
What makes this store bad is that it’s in Walsall and then people that go in are rude and what ruin it. People truly need to learn manner and thank you.

Grandaughter's glasses broke and local Asda at Great Bridge couldn't help (as for under 16s you need a manager and he was off ill). They said Walsall branch had an opticians i could try. Anyway, I called ahead to check if they could help first and they were very helpful and said they'd have a look, but should be able to sort them. They ended up fiting the lenses into new frames. Fast and friendly service, saved the weekend as she's blind as a bat without them! Thank you so much!

My parents are 60years old visited Asda st.mathews today. My dad asked one of the staff about price on cola drinks. The cashier explained to my dad that he it should go thru Asda Rewards app. My dad is not good with digital technology so the cashier sorted it out. After complating the transcation, my dad said to the cashier that, she is looking angry, and there is something called « Customer Service» Because she is working in Asda so as staff she should help the customer and she needs to treat people with respect, especialy the vulnerable people. She replied that she is not his servant and he should Get it out of the shop. Further she called on the security on him. The security guard asked my dad to apologize to the staff. This is disgusting and the staff & security guard should be a Shame of themselves to treat old and vulnerable people in the stores.

Absolutely awful... you place an order and half is missing you phone them up to be cut off! I honestly will not be using Asda again for my shopping there is always something wrong with my orders!! Don't offer this service if you can't get it right.

Abysmal. Never had a full delivery always items out of stock. Subs are a joke. They've just delivered my shopping at 5 when I ordered it between 6-7 good job neighbour is in and of course no one is picking up the phone. Wished I could pick a different store for my delivery
