It's obvious the staff in here are unhappy in the environment... it's a busy, massively understaffed joint and most of my family members genuinely feel ill when we go to Asda... I think it's the lighting or just the fact that it's understaffed and so busy... all the time... to be honest.

There's a lass at the cig counter who's nasty and absolutely hates her job (and probably the customers too) as she's always passing funny comments to us when we go in and we are constantly served with a grunt...

I can't blame the staff though as particularly on the cig counter, there's one member of staff 9 times out of 10, it's the same on the self checkout tills too, two people for numerous self checkout tills - and that damn alarm thing constantly beeping away at the self checkout area must drive the staff nuts!

It's reasonably stocked and reasonably priced with good knockdown deals but the actual environment is just... ugh... I hate it in this store and want to avoid it as literally every time we come in, we get silly comments from the woman at the cig counter or you can just feel the stress radiating off of the staff because there just isn't enough of them!

Good otherwise for the selection of products and home goods but just not a nice atmosphere at all... and because the parking situation is dire, customers are all probably tense in the car park too, we've curbed the car more than once because of the stupid layout...

Just tried to pay with cash which the machine wouldn't take. I waved (nicely)at a member of staff who approached my direction and promptly started talking to a friend while ignoring me. I didn't want to make a fuss so just walked out. I've been in customer service all my life and always trained my staff to attend customers first. I've never felt so invisible.

I’m 16, not very hungry so I just ordered a kids nugget meal. Person who took our order didn’t say anything however when food was bought over by another staff member they said I’m too old to only be paying £1 for a meal and I shouldn’t have a kids meal. I’m paying for a kids portion, not paying less because of age. People were around it was embarrassing. Would you rather me get a small portion and finish the food, or get adult portion and have loads of wasted food. If it had been mentioned when I’d ordered it then I would’ve just got a side instead.

We need to charge our electric car, but all the charging bays are occupied by non-electric cars. There doesn’t seem to be any control or enforcement of the rules. In addition, some cars are parked in disabled bays without displaying a blue badge.

I shop at Asda on a regular basis. Today (26/8/25) I bought my weekly shopping and checked it out at cash or card self service till. When I had finished scanning it and my wife was paying for it, I approached one of your assistants and handed him a bottle of whiskey and asked him to remove the security tab. He said “ Have you paid for this”? I told him that I had , but instead of removing the tab he followed me back to the checkout. By now several of the other customers had stopped to see what was happening. He then proceeded to scroll through the shopping on the screen. I asked him what he was doing. “Just checking”, he said. “ Checking what”? I asked him.”To see if it’s paid for” he replied. By now everyone was staring at me. He found the whiskey itemised on the screen and walked off and removed the security tab. When he came back he just handed me the bottle and made to walk away. I said to him “Aren’t you going to apologise”. “What for”? he asked. I said to him “ You near enough accused me in front of the whole queue of attempting to steal this bottle of whiskey”. He replied “No, I didn’t accuse you at all”. What else is it if he says in front of everybody “I’m checking to see if this paid for”? He flatly refused to apologise and walked away. I spent £92 today. I regularly spent upwards of £200, but might take my custom elsewhere, Morrisons or Tesco maybe. The guy in question was fat guy with a brown beard , wearing spectacles. This occurred at about 18.20 this evening. This guy, who wasn’t wearing a name-badge, should be stacking shelves or rounding up shopping trolleys in the car-park. He is totally devoid of any manners or knowledge of how to interact with customers, and shouldn’t be allowed to come into contact with the general public.

Great range of clothing for all the family. Good selection of suites for men and clothing for the ladies. Massive store but feels quite all over the place when looking to do your weekly shop.

Well we had a shock today as our local ASDA branch have now brought us back to covid days and installed a one way system.
The only problem with this is if you need to use the toilets before you shop, or only need sandwiches, this has now become majorly inconvenient as we now have to walk into the main shopping area and fight through the basket area, or manned tils. Both not ideal. Then only to have to walk out to come back in. This was causing chaos from what I could see. Apparently its steps to aid night time security, but it seems the genuine daytime customers have to suffer.
My suggestion is now move the toilets back over to the chemist end where they used to be and move the sandwiches.
Plus another thing is what happens if we want a meal at the cafe first? Do we have to struggle through the tils first?
