I had a terrible experience at Asda today. None of the tills were open, forcing everyone to use the self-checkouts, which are notoriously unreliable and frustrating to use. There was no staff presence near the tills to assist customers, and the one staff member at the self-checkouts had a rude and unhelpful attitude.

The self-checkouts themselves were a nightmare, as usual. They frequently malfunctioned, creating unnecessary delays for everyone. Many of them didn’t accept cash, which is ridiculous. Cash is legal tender, and not being able to use it is unacceptable. The added surveillance cameras and mirrors at the self-checkouts are invasive and make customers feel uncomfortable and treated like criminals.

After encountering issues with the machine only a few items into scanning, I tried to find someone to open a till, but I was told there was no one available. Even when I asked politely, I was met with blunt and unhelpful responses. I ended up leaving my basket behind and walking out empty-handed because it simply wasn’t worth the hassle.

Asda’s reliance on self-checkouts with no backup tills or adequate staff is unacceptable and drives customers away. This experience has completely put me off shopping here again.

Good variety in a large store, everything you need, food toys clothes. There is a cafe as well. Different ways to shop self check out, scan and go or use a till.
Be carefully of managers always stood around talking and blocking ailes.

I recently visited Asda Lakeside and had the pleasure of meeting Lindsey, one of the loveliest staff members I've encountered in a long time. What struck me was her proactive approach to customer service. She took the initiative to check in with me, asking if I was okay. During our conversation, she shared that she has learning difficulties, which can make it challenging to adapt to different situations and deal with difficult customers who may not understand her condition.
Lindsey's willingness to be open and honest about her challenges is admirable. It speaks volumes about her character and her dedication to providing excellent customer service. Despite facing potential difficulties, she consistently goes above and beyond to assist customers with a smile.
I believe Lindsey is a true asset to Asda and deserves recognition for her exceptional customer service. Her positive attitude and genuine care for others make a significant difference to the shopping experience.
I hope Asda acknowledges Lindsey's outstanding work and provides her with the support and resources she needs to continue thriving in her role.

I like shopping at my local ASDA. I always find what I need, and the prices are pretty decent. The store is usually clean and tidy, and the staff are friendly enough. My only complaint is that the checkouts can get really backed up, especially on the weekends. Overall, I'd recommend giving ASDA a try.

Asda in Doncaster has to be one of their flagship stores across the area. With a range of products on offer, you can usually find what you need within the store without having to look too far. It's also a great store for video game and film releases and they always have several copies in stock which is ideal.

I usually drive past my local asda to visit this one at the dome as it just has much more on offer compared to the other stores in the area. The Cafe here is fantastic too, which is always an added bonus to the visit.

The toilets are usually clean too and they are regularly maintained which is expected from supermarkets and Asda take care of it perfectly.

Not been since. I've been told they changed the foyer but still thugs and still madness. Nov 29th. I'm getting my lidl voucher by about 12th month so I'm guessing you've lost £700 a month from me alone.

Not going again. The new entrance and paid gestapo just mean it's not at all pleasant. It's frankly ludicrous that I need to trawl round and go through the checkouts to get to customer services. The disabled spots are also significantly farther away. The trolley park is one side and means another route march. For what exactly do we need an aggressively uniformed and aggressive attitude security "officer". It's a visible and quite unwanted sight when I should be not worried I'm going to be manhandled by a stab jacket wearing thug. I remember the time there was a greeter not a person shouting at me that I can't go to customer services (literally feet from me) and then sent to make my way into, around and through the checkouts with people scowling at me as I seem to jump the queue.

My business is going to your competition 100%.

As also shop for my mother and grandmother you've also lost their business. Mum said are we going to Asda? My answer was never again. So Lidl and Tesco's it is.

This is a massive superstore that has a wide variety of product aisles, including the confectionary one that lays out chocolates and sweets fantastically! The staff directed me towards the operable self-checkout and I bought fairly priced Cadbury Oreo Bites, finding them delicious with a proper portion.
