A quick trip after work to get a few things, was taken aback by the management of the shelves, fridges and freezers. large areas low stocked, the remaining items scattered all over, some out of their outer packaging. This was particularly bad in the health and medicine aisle and the frozen meal aisle, giving the place a totally unprofessional and unpleasant look. Probably not too surprising, as the lack of staff on the floor is very noticeable. An over reliance on self checkout shouldn’t mean a shoddy shopping trip, certainly not at the prices they charge.
You can’t run a shop without staff, although hats off to Asda - they’re having a bloody good go at it.

Apparently toilets are not a legal requirement when the cafe is closed. So what about doing it for.customer care? Has the management never been taken short. They could keep the accessible toilet unlocked when you can't access the other one? Too much effort? Luckily I just made it home.

A huge superstore ona National scale. 12 Checkouts on a busy Saturday with only Two people on. 10 checkouts standing idle. Meanwhile droves of people doing self checkouts not realizing they are doing unpaid work for Asda who only employ minimal checkout staff. Go across the street and pay at the pump

Being a checkout person or working on a petrol forecourt might not be the most interesting of jobs. But it’s work at the end of the day

I just think a good slogan for Asda might be profit before people Ching Ching

Friday morning in Asda Ashington. The store was really busy with people doing a weekly shop. Only 3 'real tills manned by a human' open. Had to queue for a self service till. Then I had to wait for an assistant ( who seemed to be managing 3 different self service areas single handedly) to verify that I had put shopping bags on the bagging area. Then my first item would not scan. Then the machine put up a "thank you for shopping at Asda" message and refused to work. Waited for assistance but none came. So I then had to wait in a queue for a real till. Problem is those queues are long and there is no physical space for them so the queue blocks access to shelf space.
As I left I asked to speak to a manager as I really wanted to share this experience. I was told I would have to go to the customer service desk, where there was yet another long queue.
I returned home and decided to phone. I listened to a stream of inane messages before speaking to a real person who said she would put me through to a manager and promptly cut me off.
This is just pathetic. I am sure Asda will survive without my money but I am glad that other supermarkets are available.

Very poor, shelves untidy and empty and hardly any food on any of the shelves in store. Seems they concentrate more on home deliveries. No one at tills all at self service checkouts. If there are staff on tills there are only two at a time and queues are up the freezer ailes making it impossible to get down, having to ask people kindly to move out of way so you can get to your item in freezer..that is if it is there. The store itself is cramped and you can't get moved got big bulky trollies that the staff use for the home deliveries/ click and collect as they are just left in the aisles. If you do kindly ask for them to be removed you get tutted at by staff. This store has been very poor since it was remodernised a few years ago.

Shopped here last Thursday. Had to get on my hands and knees 3 times to get products where the shelf was nearly empty. Had to ask 2 people for help in reaching products that only someone over 6 foot tall could reach. Why are the shelves being allowed to go empty. Have shopped here for years and have never seen the store so neglected. Come on Asda, don't let this happen.

Good sized asda normally has a full range of products, it can get quite busy especially at weekends and sometimes if you have a trolley shop you'll be waiting at the till. The cafe is decent but could be better
