Love the shop,,visit everytime we're there,,only noticed Saturday though that when you are in the changing rooms the cameras look straight over,,not very private at all

Great store that sells everything (except fresh groceries) at very reasonable prices with extremely helpful and friendly staff.
Great place, highly recommended.
The stores in Scarborough and Bridlington are almost (but not quite) as good.
Love it!
Now revisited the Bridlington branch after many years. much larger than I remember, larger than the other 2 stores.

We visited the third floor cafe, the food was OK, but the staff were abrupt and somewhat unpleasant!

A great shop for all your needs for the home, garden, car and D. I. Y projects. Home ware, clothes, slippers and shoes at very reasonable prices I visit every time I come to Whitby which is perhaps twice a year. Background music is usually on and the staff are friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit if you are in town, you can enter the shop either by the front near the railway station or from the back on the pedestrian walkway. Plenty of bargains to be had.

A wonderful shop!

It sells all manor of items (household, DIY, clothes, toiletries, haberdashery, groceries, confectionery, stationary etc etc !) and varies so it is worth checking out to find hidden new treasures.

On two floors, with lovely helpful staff it is a joy to wander around if you have a few minutes to spare.

This shop is a must-see when you're in Whitby (or any other town/City with a store, like in Grantham or Newark), and I definitely recommend a visit.
It's an old-fashioned, traditional type of store that sells a wide variety of items, from pet food, sweets and kitchenware, to books, yarn and boxer shorts and everything in between. It combines a haberdashers, iron mongers, clothes shop and sweet shop, all rolled in to one. I tend to find the staff friendly, (not the Newark store!), but it's the wide range of choice, the competitive prices and vast selection of options, that really is the biggest draw. Whether you want brand names like Regatta or Bench, or less commercial, but well-made brands like Tom Franks and Havers, then this is the place for you.

It makes me think of the quality stores my forebears' must have shopped in, with a wonderful old school charm, that's a major draw. Wherever I go in England that has a Boyes store, I always visit it and I can highly recommend them. I just wish they had stores north of the Border. With Wilko going from the high street, we need to preserve and protect the stores we still have, less we lose them forever.

We always visit Boyes when in Scarborough. Good old fashioned department store. There’s always a bargain to be found. Shame the cafe and toilets never reopened after Covid- they did in the Bridlington branch…

My wife and I enjoyed our visit to this store staff most helpful and careful in keeping there customers safe , they guided us to what we were looking for and found to be great value for money I have since used the item good and strong for the taske yes ladies gents do call in this store has some great value goods for the young and elderly people. And you can pay cash as well as card which ever one preferably wants
