Really friendly Marina and pub. Good beer and food in the pub (The Shipwreck). Clean facilities. Great all round. Good to get a ferry across and explore The Stour.

Nice place for a walk, plenty to see. Harbour across the river where you can see the cranes unloading the container ships. A lock where the boats come into the marina. A pub nearby serves food and drinks all day.

Lovely place away from gambling machines and crowds. Bonus being, no parking charges. There is two public houses there to take rest, refreshments or meals. There are better views of Felixstowe docks from Shotley,

Stunning marina with beautiful walks along the beach area, views across to the port of Felixstowe! Old fashioned charm and a nice peaceful area! Plenty of free parking! A great day out watching the boats coming and going through the lock at the marina entrance!

We were in our sailing kayak and considered landing on the beach but it looked like it would be muddy once the tide dropped, so we asked to use the pontoon outside which we were told was fine. We popped into the office to find out how much our stay would cost but was told there was no charge. Very friendly and helpful person in the office told us about facilities etc. We had some refreshments at The Shipwreck, had a short walk and then left, noting the beach we had planned to land on was now 10 meters from the water and between them, mud and rock's. So it goes without saying, leaving from the pontoon was a much nice affair.

Lovely Coffee in the Marina Restaurant and the pics and vids are a short walk away, where you can see the boats passing though a very nice safe place to go for a walk

Plenty to see across the estuary. The container port across the way is a hive of activity. There is a lock controlled Marina with boats of all shapes and sizes.
Access and parking is good, controlled by euro car parks. So you can use your Ringo parking app.
There is a Chandlers and a bar/restaurant, if you get hungry after your walk.theres more there than you might think.
