Parked just outside of Lyme Regis harbour in a large pay & display car park, as parking anywhere near the harbour is nigh-on impossible! Lovely windy day, along the seafront onto the infamous Cobb. Great to retrace our steps from a childhood holiday many moons ago. Plenty of fossil shops & food places to suit all budgets.

As a lifelong Persuasion fan, this was a bucket list visit. The Cobb did not disappoint. A walk along the seawall is not for anyone who does not like heights or water, as you are up where it's quite blustery and there are no railings. Stunning views of the sea and you cannot beat the atmosphere.

I'd never been to Lyme Regis before, but we watched 'The French Lieutenant's Woman' the other night, and it's only an hour from home, so we thought we'd go. 'The Cob' is the breakwater that takes the worst of the storms to keep the harbour safe.

It was a windy, wet day and the water wash lashing against the cob - perfect. There was a little aquarium there too, so we went in and fed 'the mullets'.

Lyme Regis is a gorgeous seaside town. Much more salubrious than the usual seas-side towns full of amusement arcades and tat shops. Definitely worth a day trip, if not a few days there.

We also did some fossil hunting, and came away with a good haul of fossils. Woohoo !

The Mary Anning statue was lovely to see too ... such amazing dedication to her chosen career.

We visited The Cob in Lyme Regis before heading back home, what an absolutely fabulous place.

We spent a few days in Exmouth and were advised to visit The Cob before heading back home.

The Cob is a very nice place to visit. When we were there we had a nice walk along the beach, had coffee and hot chocolate, went to a gift shot, had a quick walk up the high/main street etc.

We would definitely visit The Cob in Lyme Regis again, but next time we would try to stay overnight.

Fond memories of The Cobb from my childhood, when we used to jump into the sea. Beautiful spot to take in fresh sea air, eat fish and chipโ€™s, take photos, catch crabs, look at boats, get wet from the spray (if standing on the higher wall) and generally look at the view.

The cobb is awesome. A nice little marina that happens to house fishing tours and more. It's a great place for pier fishing as the shelf goes deep rather fast. And for photographers with a good eye it's a brilliant spot too.

Clean, no litter, carefully looked after- pavements well maintained, waves beating on outside of cob make exciting experience. The sea life experience is also good although a little expensive - understandably
